A Long Successful Saturday

Hi Friends, Carl and Keaton spent a full day (approximately 9+ hours) at the Alaska State Taekwondo Championship two Saturdays ago. It was Keaton's first event and he won in his age, weight and belt class! He fought (sparred) once so a lot of the time was spent observing almost all the participants as they competed in forms and sparring events. Carl & Keaton both seemed to enjoy spectating. They told me a lot about what they had seen when we all met back up again in the evening after I got home from work. Keaton was pretty evenly matched with his competitor and got a jammed finger and painful blow to the leg (or ankle) in the first round, but he went back for round two and landed the deciding kick for the win. Yay Keaton!! Carl bought him the T-shirt he's sporting here at the event and Keaton got to decide what to put on the sleeves and front. The chinese symbol means 'success'. :)

No matter what happens to and through my children, they will always be a success in their mama's eyes.

Hugs 2 all,

Jax

P.S. I told Carl he gets the "Great Dad Award" for being there for Keaton for all those hours. It sure meant a lot to his son, that's for sure.
