One tradition the kids and I still love to do is listen to the 1930's radio show The Cinnamon Bear. We listen to an episode a night right after Thanksgiving and up until Christmas Eve on radiolovers.com. Of course we know by now what adventures await for Judy and Jimmy and the Cinnamon Bear. But now they are old friends and we love to hear their story anew each holiday season. Join us if you'd like by clicking on this link. It isn't in HD as you can imagine, but it is still understandable and fun. Just know that older kids might not be captivatied if they didn't start listening to it when they were younger. My Mom says they use to run home from school to listen to this great show. And NO she was not born in the 30s! It was played on the radio for many years you see. (And of course you can buy the CDs but why?) :D
And radiolovers.com is quite the find. They have all the oldies from back in the day. Shows like Amos & Andy, Hopalong Cassidy, Big Bands, Buck Rogers, just to name a few. Look around and have fun!
Blessings onya,
Jax

What a sweet thing to do even as old as your kids are. AND thanks for the great website. I was just thinking about an old radio show called the Shadow and was wondering how many older people I know remember that.
I will tell Mark and Dianna about the Cinnamon Bears.
HI Penni,
It is fun to see what all they have on the website. Hey, how old are Mark & Dianna's kidos? Just a little FYI that Judy & Jimmy have a run in with a witch (not my favorite subject!) in a few of the episodes. Of course the good defeats the bad so that's a relief. :D Hugs, Jax
We love Cinnamon Bear!!! Thanks for sharing this with us years ago! Now it is a favorite tradition of ours too!! xoxoxo
They have three kids, Tobin 7, Kaden 5 nest month, and Jalen 3.
Kaden is God's reward to me for all the H_ _ L Mark put me through. He is gorgeous, charming, stubborn, and very willful. Hmmmm does that ring a bell with anyone?
One Sunday Mark (he teaches Sunday School by the way) was up front with the all the kids for some special deal and Jaylen decided to act up and he picked her up and had to carry her all the way to the back to get to the cry room and his face was red and did he ever look embarrassed and angry. I just smirked and laughed like any good mother would. Deja vu for me.
